About Me

My name is Sy Allen Hackett, but most call me Syris. I am originally from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, but I have lived in a few other places along my journey through life. My goals in life include experiencing everything I can, do what I can do to help my world, and find the group of people I can call family. To start achieving some of these goals, I am currently a Medical Biology/Pre-Medical undergrad at the University of New England. I am very excited to start this journey and share it with those in my life.

My interest in the medical field comes from my previous emergency medical training and my desire to help my community. As a nationally certified and New Hampshire licensed (and soon to be Maine licensed) EMT, I gained the skills and emotional fortitude to be proficient in the medical field. I have always been one to enjoy helping others in any way I can, especially in their most desperate times. With this, I am naturally inclined to the sciences, so the path to becoming a medical doctor is the puzzle piece that fits my career and fulfills my reason for being on this earth.

In my off time from responsibilities, you can find me in a few different places. I enjoy many of the same things millennials and other younger folk do these say such as Netflix, being with friends, trying a new local microbrew, listening to podcasts, playing video games, photography, or spending time with my wonderful girlfriend. As a former member of the Boy Scouts of America, being in nature is one of my favorite pastimes. Whether it is hiking, camping, or sailing I am sure to enjoy it. Technology is an integral part of my life and keeping up with the newest gear, as much as my budget allows, is one of my guilty pleasures.

Here you will find an assortment of my college works, blogs, and a few other personal projects. Please enjoy and feel free to comment what you think!
